ACHIEVEMENTS

Kennedy Law Firm has adjusted many respondents in removal proceedings to legal permanent residency.  Appellate experience includes appeals to the Board of Immigration Appeals as well as mandamus and declaratory relief in the U.S. District Courts.

Example achievements include:

  • Obtaining EB-1 permanent residency for an Israeli opera singer;

  • Successfully constructing and presenting an argument in federal court to allow successive writs of habeas corpus, which allowed KLF to secure the release of immigration detainees subject to indefinite detention;

  • Obtaining post-conviction relief in the State of Maryland for defendants who completed their sentence as well as those still subject to punishment;

  • Obtaining a marital annulment, which is rarely granted in Maryland; and,

  • Successfully forcing the Oklahoma County Detention center to honor a detainee's constitutional right to marry.
